Founded in the mid seventies, Stowe Youth Hockey (SYH) has been providing organized hockey to boys and girls of all levels of ability in Stowe, Lamoille & Washington Counties for over 40 years. It is our goal to make ice hockey accessible and affordable to any child who wants to play.
SYH is a volunteer, nonprofit, community-based hockey program dedicated to providing all ages of youth participants with the opportunity to experience the great game of hockey. Our goal is to offer the best possible experience by encouraging, developing and advancing those youth participants through a structured program that teaches good skating skills and hockey fundamentals, having fun, and learning the game. SYH programs shall also emphasize good sportsmanship, fair play, and respect for others through team play and a positive sense of responsibility to self, team and organization.
USA Hockey is currently the major governing body for the sport of ice hockey in the United States. Vermont State Amateur Hockey Association (VSAHA) is one of the 34 districts that comprise USA Hockey and is the district which SYH is affiliated with as a Tier III organization.
